12/14/09 - Children's Cabinet Virtual Roundtable Materials
On December 14th, the Forum for Youth Investment hosted a Virtual Roundtable of the Children's Cabinet Network. Children's Cabinet directors and staff gained new information on funding issues and recapped their work during the previous year around data sharing and post secondary education. The Forum unveiled a user-friendly, new tool for states to use when mapping their public resources for children, youth and families (available soon!). The tool was based on the groundbreaking children's budget work that has been done around the country over the last few years. Scott Hughes of the New Mexico Office of Education Accountability spoke of his state's unique work in this area and demonstrated their child and youth report card which shows funding in relation to child and youth outcomes. Other speakers included Elizabeth Laird, Program Manager at the Data Quality Campaign and Shawn Stelow Griffin, Senior Program Associate at the Finance Project.
