In this issue, you'll find resources from Karen Pittman's latest travels to New York where she participated in panel discussions on after-school research and quality programs. In another recent trip, Forum Program Manager Elizabeth Gaines visited with California mayors' education advisors to share Ready by 21TM collaboration strategies they can use to improve youth outcomes in their cities. Here you'll also find information on a professional development opportunity for state-level workers. Don't miss the job descriptions for two new opportunities to work with the Forum! And now's your last chance to fill out our Web site re-design survey, so click here and take a few minutes to let us know what you think (in case you haven't already!).

All Around New York for Panel Discussions on After-School

TASC logoThe Center for After-School Excellence held a series of exciting events in New York starting July 19. Forum Executive Director Karen Pittman began the day by participating in a panel discussion about the latest research in quality programs for high-school-aged youth. She and the other panelists then traveled to Long Island for "Excellence through Inquiry: A Conference on After-School Research at Greentree".  Karen's keynote, "An Overview of OST Policy Landscape: Blurring Lines, Broadening Bases," kicked off another round of panel discussions that spanned the next day.
